I’m a second generation retail geek, almost born on the shop floor and developed my passion for retailing through my mother. While most children play toy shops I had the real thing and my mother was Santa’s boss. I was the first intake at the Fashion Retail Academy which was founded by the Retail Guru Sir. Philip Green I then went on to start work in public relations but as my knowledge has increased, the market place has changed and the biggest change is social media and how to harness the potential. I have a blog on Drapers the fashion industry bible and I’m also a co–founder of the Fashion Network which runs monthly events in Manchester and London aimed at the budding fashion entrepreneur from designer to retailer to fledgling brand. www.thefashionnetwork.co.uk
My extensive knowledge of the online world has come through not just promoting retail dot com businesses but also by running three successful blogs: www.fashionablemaven.co.uk this blog is aimed at the 40+ woman and beyond age group covering fashion, beauty, interiors and travel – it has a strong following and all three sites have original content uploaded daily. We have learnt about the whole world of social media by putting our money where our mouths are and seeing what works and what doesn’t – we don’t do jargon and we know how to get bloggers and sites to like and love your brand. |
